The cycle fair is the warm up before the ride! Come check it out at 10 am (and don’t forget to register for the ride):
Off-road bike course with Team Dirt: Located in the grass by the tennis courts, kids can practice balancing and maneuvering their bikes on and through obstacles and discover a fondness for off-road riding.
Face Painting with Sparkling Faces Face Art
Jefferson School will represent with kid-crafted bicycle art projects.
The Unknowns – we know they’re a fun group of kid musicians who rock!
Safety Skills with Corvallis Safe Routes to School: Find them in the tennis courts and practice hand signals, right of way, and much, much more!
Corvallis Cyclery – we’re giving away one of their 20″ bikes!
Laughing Planet (free mini-burritos for registered riders, until supplies last)
Jamba Juice and Banana Man! (free smoothie samples for registered riders, until supplies last)
Bike Swap and Bicycle Maintenance with Corvallis Bicycle Collective: Near the off-road course, you’ll find the people who can fine tune your child’s bike before s/he starts the ride. They can also show you basic bike maintenance skills you can practice at home. Bring a bike for the swap, too! It’s a great way to trade for the appropriate sized bike.
Helmet Fitting with Mid-Valley Bicycle Club: Those helmets need to be snug to be safe. MVBC will show you how a helmet should fit and help your child get road-ready!
Thistledown Photography will take a photo of your registered rider with his/her bike and make one free download available to you online.
Sports Authority will have a deconstructed bike where kids can test the parts and see how a bike works.
Soup Cycle: sample locally-made soups and meet the Soup Guy!
Chalktrail: we’ll have one at the Learn to Ride station. Make a chalk drawing using your bike!
Toadally Insane will represent da Vinci Days and the Graand Kinetic Challenge. Check out the toad on the road!
Trick Out Your Bike: Every bike needs a little bling! Decorate a bike . . . a helmet . . . yourself . . . just keep it safe for the ride. We’ll be there with lots of fun stuff, you bring the creativity!
Learn to Ride: The transition to independent riding requires confidence, patience and a little motivation. With so many kids on bikes at the event, it may be just enough for your emerging two-wheel rider! Practice on the MyKick donated by Burley for practice, use a handle that attaches to your child’s existing bike to make it a little easier, or run alongside the old-fashioned way. We’ll be there to support you and your child.
Coyle Designs – beautifully handcrafted wooden helmets
Our prize giveaway starts promptly after the ride ends at noon and all registered riders are automatically entered to win. Local bicycling educator Greg Alpert will share his bike safety knowledge with all the kids, too!
Did we mention our goodie bags? Goodie, for sure! All registered riders get one – as supplies last, but we’re ready for a lot of you!
Corvallis Spring Roll. Sunday, June 1. Cloverland Park. 10 am. See you there!
